Be curious about the Church’s ritual of exorcism.Deliver Us From Evil opens today (7/2/14) and will “deliver” an R-rated supernatural thriller that combines a perfect blend of faith, redemption and the sheer horror of evil. Will he be able to protect his family? Will he be able to see the light of God in the midst of darkness? Will he be able to solve the mystery in the battle between evil and goodness?īe astonished with the real power of God. Join Sergeant Sarchie as he deals with the forces of darkness. This movie can change the way you look at life that if there is evil, there is also a merciful God. Though based on feedbacks, some people were not impressed by the movie because they think that nothing is new and they are already fed up with the past exorcism movies, I definitely acclaim this movie.

In terms of cinematography, I found the movie great. It will show you that NO EVIL triumphs before GOD. It will show that even if you lost your faith, He is still there to guide and help you to get through any challenges you’re going to face. In this movie, you’ll witness God showing His light to a man who lost his faith in Him. He also told him that unless he repents and humble himself before God, he can’t help him. Sarchie has this ability to sense evil but Father Mendoza warns him that this gift also makes him and his family vulnerable with the attack of darkness. One day, when he dealt with the case of a former soldier he discovered that he has a gift. After talking with Father Mendoza, Sarchie became curious about the case and he started to investigate. The priest is convinced that the woman is possessed and he asked Sarchie to contact him if ever they found something strange. He then met a Jesuit priest named Mendoza. The cops believe that she has a mental illness. One day, he encountered a woman who threw and killed her son in a zoo. He believes that if God is real, there should be no evil, and people should not suffer. Because of the events that he witnessed when he was 12 years old, he questioned the existence of God.

Sarchie is a typical cop who runs after culprits, murderers, and all sort of bad people. It was inspired by the actual accounts of an NYPD sergeant, Ralph Sarchie, who dealt with the forces of darkness. It was adapted from a book in 2001 entitled Beware the Night by Ralph Sarchie (the protagonist in the movie).

Last weekend, I watched the movie- Deliver Us from Evil. That is, if God exists, why would these things happen. With the series of disastrous calamities, man’s resilient faith is gradually being put into question. Since the creation of man, our faith in God is always being tested.
